The Higher School of Printing and Media Technologies of the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design hosted the section "Information Technologies in Design, Printing and Media Industry" within the framework of the international conference "Regional Informatics", which has been held in the Northern Capital since 1992. The university is a co-organizer of the conference with the support of the Government of St. Petersburg.
On October 25, 2024 our University was visited by the delegation of higher education institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, organized by the State Agency for Science and Higher Education of Azerbaijan. From our side the delegation was welcomed by the head of the direction of international integration and educational programs A.Y.Pastukhov, deputy first vice-rector, vice-rector for academic work M.N.Ivanov, as well as heads of departments and divisions involved in the organization of international and educational programs.
From October 21 to October 26, 2024 the delegation of PROMTECHDISIGN University visited the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia in Yerevan, where the international educational week 鈥淒esign Without Borders鈥� was held. Several universities from St. Petersburg participated in the educational week. Our delegation included students from three institutes - IDPS, IGD and IEST, as well as staff and teachers.

In October 2024, the Department of Digital and Additive Technologies (DAT) of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design celebrated its 10th anniversary. During two weeks the department held festive events: a scientific and technological conference 鈥淒igital Transformation: yesterday, today, tomorrow鈥�, a hackathon 鈥淭he Power of AI - a website in a day鈥�, a meeting of the department's alumni, a festive meeting of the department and an exhibition 鈥淐reated by neural network and graduates of DAT鈥�.
On October 24, the conference participants gathered in the main building at Bolshaya Morskaya, 18 to discuss issues related to the preservation of historical memory and to present the best practices for the development of spiritual and moral culture in scientific and educational spaces. Special attention was paid to the problem of actualization of resources of educational work with youth in the conditions of development of a culture of abolition.

Dactylology, learning the spoken language of the hearing and some difficulties in communication with teachers and classmates while studying at university are not just words for Marina Rudakova, a hearing impaired graduate of 草榴短视频. It was the lack of full-fledged interaction between hearing impaired students and professors that became the starting point for the idea of her own inclusive project 鈥淥pen Hearts鈥�, work on which she began while still a student at the university.

Valeria Stepanova, a student of the Institute of Graphic Design of 草榴短视频, has developed 3 board games and launched the official website of her project 鈥淥pen Your Possibilities鈥�, which was among the 500 best projects of the All-Russian Student Competition 鈥淭voi Khod鈥� according to the results of face-to-face defenses in the city of Ivanovo. The series of board games is focused on introducing young people to projects to realize their personal potential in Russia.
Tatyana Belaya, a student of the College of Technology, Modeling and Management of 草榴短视频, joined the delegation of St. Petersburg, which represented the region at the Youth Forum of Ambassadors of the federal project "Professionalism", which ended today in the capital of the Chechen Republic, in the city of Grozny.

The Museum of the St. Petersburg Avant-Garde has opened an exhibition "Forms of the avant-garde", presenting photographs of students of the Department of Digital and Additive Technologies of the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design, who turned to the language of constructivism and photo avant-garde of the first half of the 20th century, the works of Alexander Rodchenko, El Lisitsky and others.

Students of the Institute of Applied Chemistry and Ecology of 草榴短视频 and the Institute of Textiles and Fashion of 草榴短视频 presented the results of their research at the SMARTEX International Scientific and Practical Forum in Ivanovo, which was traditionally held with the support of the Russian Union of Textile and Light Industry Entrepreneurs (SOYUZLEGPROM). Among the developments discussed by students of the University of Industrial Technology and Design at the forum are microcapsulated materials for textiles with thermoregulation function, interference pigments based on hybrid oxides, thermochromic leuco dye, a new dyeing technology for self-cleaning fabrics, a formulation of printed compositions for thermochromic dyes.
Timur Aschuvakov, a master's student of the Institute of Business Communications of SPbSUPTD, represented the university at the All-Russian Youth Forum 鈥淪HUM鈥�, which was held at the 鈥淵antar Hall鈥� in Svetlogorsk, Kaliningrad region. At the Forum Timur developed a communication strategy for the project 鈥淩osmolodezh.Business鈥�.
Anastasia Utina, a student of the Institute of Graphic Design of 草榴短视频, was among the winners of the XXIX International Student Competition for the best packaging design 鈥淎 Clockwork Orange-2024鈥�. In the nomination 鈥淧ackaging for confectionery products鈥� Anastasia received a bronze medal for the project of a souvenir set of beekeeping products 鈥淜uzbass鈥�, as well as a laureate diploma for the project 鈥淪eries of labels for products 鈥楩amily apiary Utina鈥�.
The delegation of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design consisting of students from the departments of Costume Design, Apparel Design and Technology and the Department of Journalism and Media Technologies attended the World Fashion Gala.
We continue to consider the costumes of the students of 草榴短视频 presented in the final of the Pushkin Ball project. Ekaterina Matlina, a student of the Costume Design Institute, presented two costumes on the podium of the Gala show. The first meeting in the new academic year was held with representatives of the public foundation "Civil Alliance of Kostanay region "Green", who, in partnership with the Kazakhstan Institute of State History and the Kostanay State University named after A. Baitursynov, held a historical and geographical lecture-seminar "In the footsteps of Chokan Valikhanov" for our students.
A personal exhibition of Vasily Sukhov (1949-2023) was opened at the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design in honor of the anniversary of the remarkable muralist and teacher, who devoted more than a quarter of a century to pedagogical and administrative work within the walls of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design.
